Scripture Cuttings:
Daniel 7:9-10, 13-14 To [one like a human being] was given dominion and glory and kingship, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that shall not pass away, and his kingship is one that shall never be destroyed.
Psalm 93 The Lord is king, he is robed in majesty
Revelation 1:4b-8 Grace to you and peace... from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.
John 18:33-37 My kingdom is not from this world… For this I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.

All may make the sign of the cross in remembrance of baptism
as the presiding minister begins:
P:  In the Name of the Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen

P:  Together we appear before our King.
                       (pause to examine our loyalty)
P:  Lord God King of the Universe...
C: we appreciate your creation
we are impressed with the gift of life
  and moved by redemption.
We do plan a "thank you" in the Kingdom Come.
But for now we would rather go our own way.
We make our rules rather than study your instructions.
    We'll take convenience over discipleship.
We'll talk of the game, or argue our point,
        without ever making your witness.
Our hearts are on local things,
  our plans: short term,
    our vision: nearsighted.
You have the glory forever and ever,
just give us the other stuff here and now. (Pause for reflection)
P:  Forgive us
C: Forgive us the sins we can name,
Open to us the truth we do not see.
P:  The King of the Universe is making a state visit. He brings us the truth: Jesus Christ the firstborn of the dead, frees us from our sin by his blood! We are forgiven! Christ is our King! Now Jesus is recruiting you and me to be faithful priests in his service. Everyone who belongs to the truth will listen to him.
C: Glory to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit! Amen. -wjw

P:  The peace of the Lord be with you always!
C: And also with you!
