Scripture Cuttings:
Nehemiah 8:1-3,5-6,8-10 So they read from the book, from the law of God, with interpretation. They gave the sense, so that the people understood the reading.
Psalm 19 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, O Lord
1 Corinthians 12:12-31a Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.
Luke 4:14-21 Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.

Confession:
P:  In the Name of the Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen

P: Our God is a God of his word.
Let us confess our need for reconciliation: (will we let God bring us together?)
P: Lord God...
C: we bless you for the guidance you give
we thank you for your creation
we praise you for your promises....
but we do not follow your instructions
  we hoard your gifts
we doubt the power of your Living Word to heal us.
Forgive us the sins we name
Save us from the sins we deny. (Pause for reflection)
P:  God chooses to recover God's own people. In our hearing God's promise of redemption is fulfilled. For the sake of Jesus Christ our sins are forgiven. Now the Spirit of the Lord rest upon us to proclaim God's mercy. Glory to the Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen. -wjw

P:  The peace of the Lord be with you always!
C: And also with you!
