Scripture Cuttings:
Isaiah 49:1-7 I will give you as a light to the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.
Psalm 40:1-11 I have not hidden your saving help within my heart, I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation....
1 Corinthians 1:1-9 ...for in every way you have been enriched in him, in speech and knowledge of every kind—just as the testimony of Christ has been strengthened among you— so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ.
John 1:29-42 The next day John again was standing with two of his disciples, and as he watched Jesus walk by, he exclaimed,  "Look, here is the Lamb of God!"  The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus.

Confession:
All may make the sign of the cross in remembrance of baptism
as the presiding minister begins:
P:  In the Name of the Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen

P:  Happy are they who trust in the Lord.
Let us trust the Lord with our confession. (pause)
  Lord...
C: you choose to give us as a light to the nations,
so your salvation may reach the ends of the earth,
yet we fail to know your saving power
even to the ends of our heart.
You call us to be your servant,
  but we are quickly discouraged
because we think we labor in vain.
From you, each day, comes all our strength,
still we spend it for nothing and vanity.
Forgive us Lord, the sins we know in our heart.
Save us Lord from the sins we hide.
    (pause for reflection and self-examination)
P:  Lord from our mother’s womb you know us.
C: Restore your will in us,
write your instructions in our heart. Amen.
P:  The Lord is faithful! God sends the Redeemer, the Holy One, the Messiah, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. He is Christ Jesus, and because of him our sins are forgiven. Sanctified in Christ Jesus, baptized with the Holy Spirit, and called to be saints, we may receive grace and peace, and abide with Christ and his fellowship of salvation, in the name of the Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen -wjw

P:  The peace of the Lord be with you always!
C: And also with you!
