Scripture Cuttings:
Genesis 15:1-6 And Abram believed the Lord and the Lord reckoned it to him as righteousness.
Psalm 33:12-22 Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.
Hebrews 11:1-3, 8-16 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen
Luke 12:32-40 Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

P:  In the Name of the Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen
P:  Let us take this time to be honest with God. (pause)
  Gracious God,
C: You are the hallowed Lord
  giver of all heavenly treasures.
We do not trust your loving kindness,
instead we seek strength in earthly things
    that can not deliver us.
You make promises greater than all the stars in the heavens,
yet we do not remain alert for your presence
and we fail to trust your promise.
You give your Son to redeem us from our sins,
still we do not trust your righteousness.
Save us Lord from the sins we know in our heart.
Save us Lord from the sins we hide.
    (pause for reflection and self-examination)
P:  We have missed your promise Lord.
C: For these and all that separates us from you
  we are deeply sorry. Amen.
P:  God is faithful. God is righteous. God keeps God’s promises. Jesus Christ the Son of God has come and has died and been raised. For Christ's sake our sins are forgiven, our lives redeemed. Through the Holy Spirit we may receive the faith to believe, the conviction to live the hope of the kingdom: this day; to the glory of the Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen -wjw

P:  The peace of the Lord be with you always!
C: And also with you!
