Confession:

All may make the sign of the cross in remembrance of baptism

as the presiding minister begins:

P:  In the Name of the Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit.

C: Amen

P:  Without wrangling over words, let us make our confession.

      (pause)

Almighty God,

C: you have given us life,

  but when we need you we are cautious with our trust.

When you intercede, we are ungracious

  as though you have only met our expectation.

As we plan how you should work for us

  we blind ourselves to your blessings.

Forgive us Lord for the sins we know in our heart.

Save us Lord from the sins we hide.

   (pause for reflection and self-examination)

P:  Faithful Lord...

C: save us from our ingratitude. Amen

P:  Our Lord is gracious and full of compassion. Even if we are faithless God remains faithful. Faithful so that we may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus. It is for Christ’s sake that our sins are forgiven. It is through the Holy Spirit that we may live within the true nature of our relationship and present ourselves and our work to God without shame. In the name of the Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit.
