Scripture Cuttings:
Acts 2:14a, 22-32  …God raised him up, having freed him from death, because it was impossible for him to be held in its power.
Psalm 16 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.
1 Peter 1:3-9 Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, for you are receiving the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
John 20:19-31 “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to [Thomas], “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.”

Confession:
All may make the sign of the cross in remembrance of baptism
as the presiding minister begins:
P:  In the Name of the Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen

P:  Let us be honest with our God-
the God who does not abandon us.
(pause for reflection: honest- without our disguise)
  Lord God...
C: we hide ourselves
  away from your judgment.
And why not, our sin is before us.
We are champions of anxiety and fear.
We fear change even in the light of your constant love.
We fear authority so much as to resist even You.
We fear proclaiming your peace to the world,
in word and in deed even though you give us the Holy Spirit.
We doubt the very good news that is to transform us,
asking for proof of your love and your glory.
Forgive us Lord for the sins we know,
save from the sins we hide. (pause for reflection and self-examination)
P: Do not doubt but believe. In true faithfulness Jesus Christ died for these very sins of ours. He is risen!
C: He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
P:  Our sins are forgiven for Jesus’ sake. In receiving the Holy Spirit we may know this. As well as the blessing of believing in the resurrection and living true life in Christ name.
So that we may all say:
C: My Lord and My God! Amen. -wjw

P:  The peace of the Lord be with you always!
C: And also with you!
