Title: “The Living Author of the Living Life”
Scripture
Cuttings:
Acts 3:12-19 Repent
therefore, and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out....
Psalm 4 Know
that the Lord singles out godly people for himself.
1 John 3:1-7 And
all who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
Luke 24:36b-48 Thus
it is written, that the Messiah is to suffer and to rise from the dead on the
third day, and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in
his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these
things.
All may make the sign of the cross in
remembrance of baptism
as the presiding minister begins:
P: In the Name of the
Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen
P: Let us repent and
turn to God so that our sins may be wiped out. (pause)
P: Saving Lord...
C: We have
received the faithful witness of the resurrection,
but we hoard our joy, and are reluctant
servants of Jesus.
We do not
offer real hope as ministers to the needs of others,
we continue disbelief, doubt and even fear
in Christ presence.
Instead of
building on the foundation of our Lord: the Author of life,
we center our living and faith
in our own property, power and piety.
Forgive us
Lord for the sins we can name,
save us from the sins we hide. (pause for reflection
and self-examination)
P: The Author of life
lives, The Lord is risen!
C: He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
P: Our Lord Jesus
Christ is revealed to take away our sins. Our sins are forgiven. To the glory
of God the Father we are made righteous. See the love our Heavnely Father gives
us, that we are called children of God. Through the Holy Spirit we may begin to
proclaim repentance and forgiveness in Christ’s name to all nations. To the
Glory of the Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen. -wjw
