Scripture Cuttings:
Lamentations 3:22-33 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.
Psalm 30 I will plead to the Lord for mercy: "How will you profit if my blood is shed, if I go into the pit? Will the dust of my body give thanks to you? Will it tell about your truth?" Hear, O Lord, and have pity on me! O Lord, be my helper!
2 Corinthians 8:7-15 For you know the generous act of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich.
Mark 5:21-43 [Jesus] said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.".... Jesus said to the leader of the synagogue, "Do not fear, only believe."

All may make the sign of the cross in remembrance of baptism
as the presiding minister begins:
P:  In the Name of the Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen

P:  Our repentance is called, by freely given grace.
(can't earn it, can't expect it, can't demand it, but freely given it is:
pause for self-examination)
P:  Almighty God,
C: we are more afraid of losing our spot in the crowd
than loosing our place with you.
we are imprisoned by the way it could have been,
and will not see what you can make it.
how perfect we think we are to walk with you,
yet your healing is upon the desperate begger.
Forgive us for the sins we can name,
save us from the sins we hide. (pause for reflection)
P:  The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. We know the generous act of our Lord Jesus Christ; that though he was rich, yet for our sakes he became poor, so poor as to die on a cross, that by his poverty we may become rich. For Christ’s sake our sins are forgiven. In this renewed wealth we may excel in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in eagerness, and in genuine love for one another and for our saving Lord. To the glory of God, the Father, Son, + and Holy Spirit.
C: Amen. -wjw

P:  The peace of the Lord be with you always!

C: And also with you!
