Scripture Cuttings:
Isaiah 66:10-14 ...and you shall nurse and be carried on her arm and dandled on her knees.
Psalm 66:1-9 Bless our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard.
Galatians 6:1-16 So let us not grow weary in doing what is right.
Luke 10:1-11, 16-20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.

Confession:
All may make the sign of the cross in remembrance of baptism
as the presiding minister begins:
P:  In the Name of the Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen

P:  How long have we put aside trusting in the Lord?
Let us acknowledge our sin. (pause for self-examination)
P:  Almighty God...
C: we lack confidence in you.
Our standards are of this world,
  and we strive for self-satisfaction,
    instead of your kingdom.
We are unprepared for your mission,
and corrupt the work we do for you,
    with our pride.
You present your glorious promises,
we mock you by chasing them with good works,
and flee from the fears of our choice.
For the sins we name Lord; forgive us.
For the sins we hide Lord; save us.
  (Pause for reflection)
P:  For the sake of Jesus Christ, our Lord, the Son of God, our sins are forgiven. Because of God's abiding affection for us we may live a new creation turning to life in the Holy Spirit and work for the good of all in the Kingdom of God. To the glory of the Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen -wjw

P:  The peace of the Lord be with you always!
C: And also with you!
-or-

P:  In the Name of the Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen

P:  Let us take this time to be honest with God. (pause)
  God of all blessing,
C: you send us out to the whole world to sow from the Spirit,
yet we follow you as if to manipulate your gifts
    for our own prosperity.
You call us to serve,
and we take pride in our own humility.
You show us the great harvest,
yet we stop our labors when we ourselves are filled.
Hear our repentance.
Forgive the sins we know in our heart.
Save us Lord from the sins we hide. (pause for reflection and self-examination)
P:  For all these Lord we are deeply sorry.
C: Amen
P:  God does know God’s people. We have been nursed and carried and the hand of the Lord is with us. For God has brought us salvation through Jesus Christ. Because of Christ our sins are forgiven, our hearts can again be renewed by his mercy and our sowing and reaping may again be done for the Spirit, the Spirit given into us at our baptism. In the name of the Father, and the Son, + and the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen. -wjw

P:  The peace of the Lord be with you always!
C: And also with you!
